In an age where businesses run 24x7, 365 days a
year, if critical applications, servers, or databases become
unavailable, your entire business might be jeopardized. Lost
revenue, dissatisfied customers, penalties, and negative press
will have a lasting effect on your organization's reputation.
You need to protect against failures - computer failures as
well as data and disaster failures.
This is where Oracle's idea of the GRID comes in
- encompassing Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) for
redundancy, Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery, Oracle
Enterprise Manager (Grid Control) for Database and Server
Provisioning, Configuration Management to capture all changes
at server or database level, and the Diagnostic and Tuning
packs for performance management of both databases and
application servers.
Join us once a month on Fridays for 2½hrs from
24 July to 20 November at our series of Oracle workshops to
see how you can leverage the concept of the Oracle GRID and
prevent failures and downtime from happening, so that you can
focus on delivering the services that your business really
needs for success.
Learn how Oracle Real Application Clusters, Data
Guard and Enterprise Manager can facilitate the effective use
of your database and server infrastructure to help you lower
your costs through:
Outstanding reliability -
Multiple commodity servers ensure affordable
availability and eliminate downtime costs
Simple on-demand scalability
- Need more capacity? Just add another commodity
server to your cluster
24/7 availability - Provide
continuous uptime for database applications
Lower computing costs - Use
low-cost commodity hardware and reduce cost of
downtime | |
The
complimentary workshops are conducted by Porus Homi Havewala, the
first Oracle ACE Director in Singapore and the author of several
technical articles on Grid Control in the Oracle Technology Network
(OTN).

Who
should attend
DBAs Understand how RAC and Active
Dataguard along with Enterprise Manager can assist in redundancy,
disaster recovery, performance management, database and server
provisioning, and next-generation patching, configuration management
& much more.
IT Managers Understand how DBA
productivity can be increased, how SLAs can be met, how you can
become overseers of the corporate system, generate security
compliance reports, use application level performance dashboards,
find the database versions in use, licencing aspects, and analyse
the proper use / wastage of expensive storage space. |
